| Brigadier Diljit Singh Virk
PHILATELIC CURRICULUM VITAE Born in 1914, he worked with the Indian Army Post Office from 1939. When India became independent, he was entrusted to build up a postal service for its army. He has written extensively on the Indian Army Post Offices 1939-1947, on the military campaigns of Sikkim-Tibet 1903-1908 and of the China Expeditionary Force 1903-1923. Founder member of the Philatelic Congress of India, has served as Bureau member of Literature Commission (1988-92) and Postal History (1978-88). He signed the Roll of Distinguished Philatelists in 1993. |
